Started in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level domain extension is the sole TLD intended for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. At first, solely third-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to order john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level names remained operational.

You will have the chance to modify the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer code from the present domain service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no specific stipulations on who can acquire a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
