A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk emails, but this problem can be solved using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also vital to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a few functions, but it’s exceptionally intuitive, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just one click. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be listed in this section alphabetically and you will only need to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the specific email address. Our system will alert you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or select some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires yet another click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house created Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to create a catch-all mailbox easily even in case you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each email address that you have created using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you’ve already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you don’t want the feature anymore, you can deactivate it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
